Padel in Bulgaria is young, and it has grown from Sofia outwards. According to Bulgarian player Georgi Nikolov, the first players were foreigners, mostly Spaniards working in the capital (FIP). The International Padel Federation's World Padel Report 2025 counts 12 courts at 7 clubs.
Padel is run within the Bulgarian Tennis Federation. In May 2024 the tennis federation and the Bulgarian Padel Federation joined forces. A National Padel Commission became the sole body for the sport. Its national circuit, BG Padel Tour, splits tournaments into GOLD and SILVER events and keeps the national ranking.
In October 2025 Sofia hosted Bulgaria's first FIP tournament, FIP Bronze Sofia, at Padel Club Sofia in Dragalevtsi. It drew 61 pairs (BTA). A month later the second Varna Padel Open drew 180 players from 8 countries.
Sofia has the most courts, and Plovdiv, Varna and Burgas all have clubs. There are also courts at Black Sea resorts such as Kiten. Most Bulgarian clubs take bookings through the Click and Play platform rather than Playtomic.
