Malta may be small, but padel has taken off quickly there. The International Padel Federation's World Padel Report 2025 counts 38 courts at 10 clubs and puts the number of amateur players at 10,000. The sport is run by the Malta Tennis & Padel Federation, which joined the International Padel Federation in 2022. Players register with the federation each year for €20.
2026 was a landmark year. In May, Padel Malta in Pembroke hosted the country's first CUPRA FIP Tour event, an FIP Bronze, with teams from Spain, Italy, Türkiye, Poland, Ukraine and Croatia (FIP). The federation's national calendar also includes National Padel Opens, junior events and the Malta Open Padel at Marsa Sports Club.
Most Maltese courts are outdoors, which suits the island's climate, and many clubs take bookings through Playtomic.
