Padel arrived in Norway late but grew quickly. When the Norwegian Tennis Federation took padel in as an official branch in 2017, the country had 11 courts and about 230 registered players. By October 2023 there were around 500 courts, and the federation voted to rename itself Norges Tennis- og Padelforbund (NTPF).
Today NTPF counts more than 600 courts, 66 clubs with padel as a branch plus 33 padel-only clubs, and more than 5,200 members. The climate shapes the sport: only a little over 15 of those courts are outdoors. In 2025 the federation sanctioned 47 tournaments, including four national championships.
To compete, players buy a licence in Min Idrett, which automatically places them on the national ranking list. Norway is also building an international presence at FIP Bronze level, with events in Drammen, Eidsvoll and, from October 2026, Oslo.
