Ireland was slow to take up padel, but it is making up for lost time. Padel Federation Ireland was formed in 2010, and the first court opened in Dublin in 2012. Since then, 254 more have been built in the State, according to federation figures reported in August 2026 (The Irish Times).

The federation joined the International Padel Federation in 2020. It handles licences through its Padel Portal, affiliates clubs and runs the national ranking. Points come from the Irish Padel Tour, which has run since 2018 and builds up from P1 events to Majors and a Master Final.

Competition is growing fast. The all-Ireland Padel League of Ireland launched in August 2026 with 33 clubs, 106 teams and more than 1,000 players. Ireland hosted its first international ranking tournament in 2021, and the Hiscox Padel Irish Open in Dublin has been on the CUPRA FIP Tour since 2025 (Padel Irish Open).
