Padel has grown quickly in Romania since the sport was officially recognised in 2022. A September 2026 count by the aggregator PadelPlay.ro found 112 clubs and 340 courts in 39 cities (svnews). Bucharest led with 95 courts, followed by Cluj-Napoca, Sibiu, Timișoara and Oradea. The International Padel Federation's World Padel Report 2025, based on earlier data, counted 90.

The Federația de Padel din România joined the International Padel Federation on 1 January 2025 (Opinia Timișoarei). Players register online for 100 RON and receive a federation licence number.

Romania is now on the international circuit. The first FIP tournament in the country was held in May 2025. In May 2026, FIP Silver Timișoara brought 130 players from about 20 countries to Padel Center Dumbrăvița.
