Padel is growing fast, and this page collects the key figures in one place. Unless stated otherwise, every number comes from the International Padel Federation's World Padel Report 2025, which gathers estimates from each national federation. Each figure links to the page of the report it comes from. You are welcome to cite this page.

Who plays padel

More than half of the 35 million amateur players play at least once a week. The FIP estimates that 60% of amateur players are men and 40% are women (report, p. 8 of the PDF).

At the top of the game, 11,125 players held a professional FIP ranking in 2025: 8,045 men and 3,080 women (report, p. 6 of the PDF).

Padel courts around the world

At the start of 2025 the world passed 70,000 padel courts, and by the end of June it had more than 77,000. Europe accounts for about two thirds of them, with more than 51,000 courts (report, p. 10 of the PDF).

How fast padel is growing

The FIP compares its 2025 figures with its previous report, published 18 months earlier:

• Courts: up by more than 14,355, or 22.8%, equivalent to about 15.2% a year. Europe added 8,500 courts (+20%), Central and North America 1,976 (+99%), Asia 1,433 (+45%), South America 1,297 (+10%) and Africa 1,089 (+47%).
• Clubs: up by 4,775, or 24.1%, equivalent to 16.1% a year.
• Federation clubs: 8,612 clubs managing more than 30,000 courts are affiliated with national federations, 48% more than the 5,820 clubs in 2023.
• Countries: padel is now played in 26 more countries than in the previous survey.

Padel courts in Europe by country

The table lists every European country with a sheet in the FIP report, ranked by number of courts. The share column is each country's share of the courts in this table. Dates link to each country's page in the report.

Great Britain's figure in the FIP report covers Great Britain rather than the whole UK. Vatican City is left out because its sheet repeats Malta's figures.

National figures from federations

National federations publish their own, often more recent, figures. They are not directly comparable with the FIP's estimates or with each other, because each counts slightly differently:

• Spain: the Federación Española de Pádel issued a record 111,866 licences in 2025, making padel the seventh-largest federated sport in the country (FEP).
• Italy: the national federation's 2025 report counts 5.4 million padel enthusiasts and 5,321 courts at affiliated clubs (FITP).
• France: 850,000 padel players in November 2025, 272,000 of them licensed, and about 4,000 courts at 1,027 clubs (FFT).
• Great Britain: 1,553 courts at 559 venues at the end of 2025, up from 870 courts a year earlier, and 860,000 people who played at least once in 2025 (LTA).
• Netherlands: 3,523 courts at 780 locations at the end of 2025, up from 475 courts in 2020 (KNLTB × EY).
• Sweden: about 540,000 people booked a padel court in 2021, up from 170,000 in 2019 (Svenska Padelförbundet).

About these figures

The FIP report relies on estimates supplied by each national federation, and different countries report on different dates (June or October 2025). Treat the numbers as the best available estimates, not exact counts. We will update this page when the FIP publishes its next report.
