Padel in Britain has grown from a niche sport to a mainstream one in a few years. The Lawn Tennis Association, which governs the sport, counted 1,553 padel courts at 559 venues in Great Britain at the end of 2025. A year earlier there were 870 courts at 293 venues (LTA Padel). Player numbers tell the same story. 860,000 adults and juniors played at least once in 2025, compared with 15,000 in 2019.
The competitive structure is growing too. LTA padel rankings are based on your best six results from LTA Padel Tour events over the previous 52 weeks. The first LTA Padel National Championships were held at Rocket Padel Bristol in December 2025. In August 2026 the professional tour came to Britain for the first time, with the London Premier Padel P1 at Olympia.
