Padel in Hungary started small. The Magyar Padel Szövetség was founded in 2016, when the country had just three courts, in Pasarét, Budapest. By July 2025 its president put the total at 122 courts, with 22 member clubs (Utánpótlássport). The International Padel Federation's World Padel Report 2025 gives a similar picture, with 135 courts at 27 clubs. Today the federation's "where can I play?" page lists 35 venues across the country.
Budapest is the centre of the sport. When two courts opened on Margaret Island in April 2024, they were the city's 25th and 26th (Én Budapestem). International padel has followed. Top Padel Muskétás hosted the FIP Silver Budapest Open II in September 2026, with €18,000 in prize money.
Domestic competition runs on the Hungarian Padel Tour, which needs a MAPASZ player licence. Its Gold, Silver and Bronze categories are set by national ranking, so players compete against others at a similar level.
