Padel is one of Slovakia's newest sports. Arena Padel Bratislava, which calls itself the country's first padel arena, opened in September 2022 with six courts (Startitup). In December 2023 the Slovenská padelová asociácia put the number of active players at more than 1,000. By 2025, the International Padel Federation's World Padel Report counted 40 courts at 10 clubs and cited 10,000 amateur players.
The association says it has been Slovakia's official governing body for padel since 2018, and the International Padel Federation lists it as its Slovak member. It runs the national championship, the CUPRA Majstrovstvá Slovenska, which is open to players over 16.
2026 brought Slovakia's first international ranking event. FIP Bronze Bratislava was played at Aurial Padel Bratislava in May, as Slovakia joined 16 other new countries on the CUPRA FIP Tour (FIP).
