Padel arrived in the Netherlands around 2006, brought back by people who had learned the game in Spain. The KNLTB, the Dutch tennis association, officially took it on in 2016. Since then the growth has been steep. By the end of 2025 the country had 3,523 courts at 780 locations, up from 475 courts in 2020 (KNLTB × EY, Padel in Cijfers 2025). In 2025, 876,000 people played at least once (EY).
Booking a court is straightforward. The KNLTB's meet & play platform is the largest for one-off court hire, and more than 240,000 registered players booked through it in 2025. Playtomic and venues' own systems are common too. For competitive players, the KNLTB introduced a revised padel rating system on 1 January 2025.
The Netherlands also has a place on the professional calendar, with the CUPRA Rotterdam Premier Padel P2 at Rotterdam Ahoy in autumn 2026.
